Just a few tips today

I made Hamburger Helper the other day for my son, and didn't realize I had no milk in the fridge. I did have heavy whipping cream though! I watered down the cream so it was 50/50, and used it in place of milk. It tasted great! I've also heard you can just add more water and butter, but I don't know if it will get as creamy that way.

Leftover rice can be turned into a delicious rice pudding type breakfast by adding milk, butter, cinnamom and sugar to taste. I love this with coconut milk!

Honey can be used in place of sugar. 3/4 cups of honey is equal to 1 cup of sugar. Honey is better for you than processed sugar, as it has a lower glycemic index than sugar. Honey also has antioxidants that sugar does not have.

If you don't buy organic anything else, you should buy organic apples. 87.9% of conventional apples tested contain Thiabendazole, a probable neurotoxin and reproductive or developmental toxin. There are a total of 42 pesticide residues found on conventional apples. You can see for yourself here. Raleys has a sale this week on organic apples, so I will be buying some for applesauce for the kids.
